Started out at 6:30 from the river near my house and planned to get picked up at 12 at Tsukihama, my first ever ‘one way’ trip (exciting…)

I like that I can carry my kayak to the put-in rather than have to drive for 20 minutes.

The bamboo poles that had been supporting the seaweed farming (that I saw being installed) were being removed

and the sea was busy with lots of boats taking away the bamboo.

and piling it up on some of the islands

There seemed to be two stacks: a neat one

and a messy one

I liked the messy piles the best.

All of this going on at 7am on a Sunday morning…

beautiful coastline

The sun came out around 10am and the sky starting to blue up.

The sea was flat calm with very little wind and only a small swell. It is definately a beautiful area, Matsushima

weird

and the weird colours inside caused by the lack of light (and a poor camera)

The last picture before the camera dies.

Five hours, a relaxing trip and maybe about 15km. Here is my route map.
